From 202 to 177 lbs: My One-Year Journey with Intermittent Fasting!

This Intermittent Fasting success story is my real-life transformation, not a fitness model pitch. One year ago, I was at 202 lbs, feeling sluggish and frustrated. I had tried everything, but nothing stuck—until I changed my biology. By committing to a strict Intermittent Fasting routine and cutting out metabolic disruptors, I didn’t just lose 25 lbs—I reclaimed my health.

The Failure that Led to Success.

Before finding my rhythm, I tried a low-calorie diet focused almost exclusively on vegetables. I spent a whole year struggling just to lose 5 lbs. Then, in just two nights—Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve—I gained it all back.

I realized then that “eating less” wasn’t the answer; I needed a formula that actually controlled my insulin and hunger. The breakthrough didn’t happen when I ate less, but when I fasted longer. Finding this balance was the first step toward my Intermittent Fasting success.

My transformation: From 202 lbs to 177 lbs through consistency and fasting.

My Winning Routine for Intermittent Fasting Success.

I stopped dieting and started Intermittent Fasting. Here is the exact routine that took me from 202 to 177 lbs:

  • The Window: I only eat twice a day, at 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. This gives my body 19 hours of rest to burn stored fat and improve insulin sensitivity.
  • The Banned List: I completely removed refined sugar, sodas (in all forms), junk food, and red meat from my diet.
  • Home Cooking Only: I stopped eating out. I now only eat what I prepare myself at home, ensuring I know exactly what goes into my body.
  • Hydration: I drink at least 1.5 liters of water daily (before, during, and after meals).
  • Movement: I walk for 30 minutes twice a day—once after my main meal and once in the evening (on the street or my treadmill).

The Solution: Beyond the Schedule

Fasting was the engine, but consistency was the fuel for my Intermittent Fasting success. To stay on track, I focused on:

  • Sustainability: Outside of my banned items, I eat the foods I enjoy, which makes this lifestyle permanent rather than a “quick fix.”
  • Strategic Support: Using high-quality supplements to manage blood sugar and maintain energy during fasting hours.

Where I Am Today: 177 lbs and Counting

Today, I am at 177 lbs. The journey isn’t “over”—I am now in the management phase. I’m currently working on burning that last bit of belly fat and turning it into lean muscle.

I created Fat Burner Index to help you avoid the “5-lb trap” I fell into. I want to help you find the right supplements and habits to make your transformation permanent, just like mine.

I hope my Intermittent Fasting success inspires you to start your own metabolic health journey today. If you’re stuck in the 5-lb trap, I’d love to hear your story; feel free to reach out here!
